Are You...

...a tech-savvy teen? A geektastic dad? A mama with a mouse? A kiddo with a kick-butt laptop?!

"Ghost Sniffers" is looking for world wide web wizards to volunteer a few hours (or more or less) to help build the sniff in specific and step-by-step ways on the Internet. We know exactly what needs to be done (and it costs nothing -- yay!) we just need donations of time :D

Email or call and let us know if you're free and how much time you have. We'll let you know our deadlines (they're all in April) and exactly what needs to be done.

Call for Locations

"Ghost Sniffers" is searching for several locations for upcoming episodes. Locations need to be donated (free to use) but we do thank location owners by personal and business name in the credits of the episode and can even provide contact information and a logo to help publicize the location, if desired. We also send a free DVD of the episode that the location appears in and a certificate of thanks :) The locations needed are:

--A hallway lined with lockers (like at a school). Three hours or less.

--A classroom with desks and a whiteboard or blackboard. Five hours or less.

--A gym with bleachers. Two hours or less.

--An auditorium (stage and seats) of any size. No light operator needed, just someone to turn on basic stage lights and house lights. Three hours or less.

--A dance studio of any size (we really just need to use one of two rooms). Five hours or less.

--A living room with a couch and armchairs. Two hours or less.

Please email or call if you have any ideas or personal contacts!

Evening Update

Two big updates for our incredible team out there :

1.

In order to build buzz about the "Ghost Sniffers" Trading Card Roleplaying Game, we've decided to start giving away (yep, for FREE) limited edition variant cards at special events. Twenty of each card will, eventually, be offered for sale on the website but only for a premium price. These rare, numbered cards will be limited in quantity printed and they will never be packaged in any starter deck or expansion pack, nor will they be reprinted. Here is a partial list of events where variants cards will be given away as well as conditions that can be met to gain a free limited edition card:

--Event: Attend the March 29 premiere.
--Event: Attend the April 12 screening.
--Condition: Attend both the premiere and the screening.
--Event: Attend the Black Wolf Paranormal Haunting for Hope "Ghost Sniffers" panel.*
--Event: Appear in four or more episodes as any character.
--Condition: Register at the "Ghost Sniffers" wiki as a member.
--Condition: Print and send us the code certificate found on the flash drive tail of a Mini Boo.
--Condition: Become a $500 sponsor of any episode in the second half of Season 1.**
--Event: Boogie down, sing, act or rap in the "Wish Maker" music video.
--Condition: Sell ten or more tickets to the April 12 screening.
--Condition: Donate or organize the donation of a location used in an episode.

*There are two variants available at this event packed into attendees welcome bags by the event staff.
**Sponsors at this level are written into the script for the episode they have sponsored. The limited edition card will feature their character.

Please keep in mind that meeting certain conditions may not be possible for every individual and may depend upon casting, availability, and other considerations.

Some of these events have already passed so we'll be awarding cards retroactively. Our first shipment of variant cards may actually miss the April 12 screening by 24 hours! Yikes! Other conditions are met online and cards are never sent as PDFs. To collect cards for past events you attended or for conditions fulfilled online, send a SASE (a self-addressed stamped envelope) to Ghost Sniffers Rare Card, Event/Condition: XXX, 7419 Ebbert Dr SE, Port Orchard WA 98367. Instead of "XXX," write the name of the event you attended or the condition you met. Examples:

Ghost Sniffers Rare Card
Event/Condition: Dual Ticket Holder

Ghost Sniffers Rare Card
Event/Condition: Registered on Wiki

Want more details? Email us at ghostsniffers@gmail.com

P.S. Nope, we won't reveal WHO appears on each card... but we will whisper a few hints: Forge, Maxo, Spark, Harley, Maximilian, Hund, Mau, Reh, Potro, and Boo.

2.

Our acceptance as a television show series at IMDb has been approved and (as of two days ago) Brianne has meticulously entered all the information for Episodes 1 through 6, plus partial information for Episodes 7 and 10. Episodes which have not started shooting yet are not yet added to IMDb because they take data entry very, very seriously and don't want details added for planned productions -- just productions seriously underway. I appreciate the quality controls they have in place. IMDb must review and approve all information and they claim this takes two to six weeks. We'll see when the data she entered actually populates our profile. Very exciting :)

IMDb will actually cost $16/month but we know how vital it is to all of our actors who perform professionally. IMDb is the go-to database for actors and we want to help you increase your visibility. Adding a Season 1 image to the page will cost a one-time fee of $35 so we're waiting a little while to go ahead and do that until we have the funds.

On a related front, if you are an actor who wants to build his or her own profile (called a resume) on IMDb, you can do so here for free for two weeks. After that, it will cost you $16/month.

Episode 7 -- Complete!

Important Note: Tomorrow (Wednesday), I'll be posting the complete schedule which shows when actors will receive their scripts and when Episodes 7 through 12 will shoot. The schedule will include when the music video and the documentary will shoot as well. In the meantime, please check your voice mail and/or email as Cris has now made contact with all actors in the second half of the season and needs to talk to you about details.

At just before midnight, hours before today dawned, the script for Episode 7 was sent to the actors who appear in the enchanted apple investigation scenes. It was an amazing experience to send that script because it marks two milestones:

1. The beginning of the second half of Season 1.
2. The schedule change that allows actors to have their scripts almost a month before they shoot.

That first item is pretty obviously a reason for excitement. A lot of people say, "Gee, I want to make a series." But how many actually do the work and make it a reality? It took ALL of us... and we did it. We're doing it! Every cast member. Every crew member. Day to day.

But that second item means that actors get to TAKE THEIR TIME. On the Episode 1 DVD, there's a thirty minute interview with me. One of the things I talk about (quite candidly) is what type of actor I like to work with. I don't want someone who memorizes lines quickly and effortlessly, delivers them fast and easy, then leaves the set. I want an actor who actually cares about the character. Who wants to know why they say what they say, why they feel what they feel. I want someone who lives and breathes this show because, goodness knows, I do.

I won't embarrass anyone by naming names, but at the premiere, as I was walking around delivering the winner's auction baskets and checking in, there was one actor who was still watching the credits, bouncing up and down, just getting down to the classic theme that runs during our credits (and opener). This actor was brimming with excitement. This actor could not contain that excitement... and didn't want to leave the "Ghost Sniffers" world. Not yet. I thought to myself, "That's someone I will cast again... and again. Not just for Season 1, but Season 2 when we start paying our actors. And in other shows that we produce!"

Instead of giving actors a week, or (yikes!) three days, we can now give actors more than three weeks to look over their script, to ask questions through email or by phone, to tweak their costume, to rehearse with family and friends. This isn't about more time to memorize. This is about more time to become your character. It's about making better actors by allowing them to live with their characters.

I may seem like a big (though short) meanie when I tell actors (adults, kiddos and teens) that I really do consider it a requirement that they watch ALL the available episodes before they show up to shoot an episode. I want everyone on the set to understand where we are in the mythology, what the audience is feeling, and how far we've come.

Because, in the end, we're making this series TOGETHER, aren't we? In my heart, I know we are.

Why am I Not Sleeping?!

Wait a second. The premiere is past and it was wonderful. A huge success by all accounts. But while we were pushing toward that all-important March 29 date, we all kept saying, "Just a few more days! We can sleep afterwards!"

It's 3:00 in the morning. Why am I awake?!

Because I just sent the first card in the "Ghost Sniffers" Ttading Card Roleplaying Game off to the printer, that's why.

Actually... it was the first two cards :)

If you've ever attended a SF or gaming convention, you're familiar with the idea of bag stuffers. These are cool freebies that come in your member bag when you sign in. If you're lucky, there's a free book, or comic, or limited edition badge.

Well... 180 of the attendees who come to the Black Wolf Paranormal Haunting for Hope event on April 14 will be lucky enough to receive one of two limited edition, numbered variant cards for the "Ghost Sniffers" TCRPG coming out this summer. The cards feature an animated-style Forge wearing a Black Wolf Paranormal t-shirt and are fully playable cards. The cards are mounted on cool flyers announcing the series and pulling out Maxo, Spark and others... and inviting everyone to the panel at 5:00.

When will other limited edition cards be released? At what events will attendees be given these rare, free treasures? Are there ways to earn variant cards like awards for phenomenal dedication to the series? Hm... who knows ;)

Only time will tell. And right now? It's time to get some sleep :)
